It's your favorite artist / blob from the big city.

I'm excited to share with you the details on a new collection that has been several years in the making! I present to you:

Being a muralist means creating your most impactful art and giving it to the public.

It's a mindset that says: art lives outside the gallery, can be painted on any surface, and become integrated into the ever-changing landscape of the city.

But, I noticed my mural practice had three big problems:

1. It can't be moved.
   ​The art is accessible only to local people who live near each mural. ​
   ​
2. It's static.
   ​My art begs to be moving – murals alone don't satisfy that.​
   ​
3. It's impermanent.
   ​Even in the best of cases, it needs to be repaired over time.
   ​

How can we make something ephemeral live forever?

As I witnessed my murals, one by one, getting painted over and tagged with graffiti, I felt inspired to create a brand new digital art collection based off of some of my favorites.

MURALS by Efdot encompasses 9 murals that have each been remastered into a unique animated painting. 🖌

Each piece has a story – an important moment in the journey where I was given the ability to create beyond the four walls of a studio. Several walls were painted as a team effort with friends, local artists and assistants both in USA & Mexico.

How to collect: 6 of the murals will be collectable when the project launches on Feb 29th, and 3 more will be given as airdrops to holders in the coming months, before NFT NYC. Set up an account on NiftyGateway so you're ready.

Here's where it gets interesting:

Available on February 29 will be 3 newer murals from 2023, and 3 older ones completed before 2023.

*Holders of one "new" mural and one "old" mural will then receive a special airdrop in the coming weeks: a mural we are bringing back from the dead!

Together we will give these pieces new moments to shine, and a way for them to live on eternally.

Each piece will include multiple pieces of media that tie to that mural:

• the new animated artwork
• an original mural (in image form)
• another piece of related media – (a work in progress sketch, drone footage, time lapse etc)

You’ll get a placeholder artwork, AKA a 'BRICK', 🧱 which Nifty Gateway will replace with your MURALS edition(s) once the mint concludes on March 1st.

And we’ve got some special surprises and perks in mind for full MURALS set holders (those who collect all 6), like raffles for signed screen prints of the murals, a 1/1 animated mural, and of course, some events at the studio in April / Spring.

🧱 Brick by brick, this project came together, and I'm so exited to breathe new life into these pieces. I have no doubt that this will lead to more walls and beautiful community projects.
