New Mural: Barclays Center πŸ™β›ΉοΈβ€β™‚οΈ

Hey Reader,

Quick heads up:
This is the final weekend to collect on the Efdot Shop and get it before Christmas / the last night of Hanukkah. Soon the studio will be on break for the holidays.

Now let's talk about why the studio's been quiet...

A new mural at Barclays Center in collaboration with Modelo

A few days ago I finished installing my newest installation, which is on permanent display at the Barclays Center, titled "Brooklyn in Flow".

I wanted to capture the chaos of this city. The Brooklyn Bridge serves as an anchor, with neighborhoods colliding, strangers syncing up on subway platforms, and players cutting across the court. Synchronicity gets captured in my visual language.

The wall itself threw a curveball: half concrete, half drywall, cut diagonally like a trapezoid with two connected walls. Not exactly the flat canvas I expected.

The process took 4.5 days, painting with brushes and house paint. Starting with projecting my sketch, and then refining it right on the wall. The last day I spent completely horizontal, belly-down on the floor polishing the details.

Using a minimal color palette as one of the main constraints, the composition is divided into 3-4 distinct layers based on contrast + saturation. Dark blue shadows contain hidden details only visible in person.

Honestly, a younger me wouldn't have believed this was possible. But I've learned that if you stay consistent with your vision, the right projects find you.

The arena also brought in 3 other local muralists: Peacheeblue, Gera Luz, and The Snoeman. If you catch a basketball game or live performance, check out all the murals on the upper deck at the Modelo Bridge where they've made some stunning renovations.

Paying tribute to the city that made me who I am, feels like homecoming. I'm honored to leave something here that will endure here for years!

Quick question for you: What's a project or moment this year where you surprised yourself? Hit reply and let me know. I'm curious what you've been creating.

Happy Holidays,

Hi Reader, What's the last place you would expect to see an art event? Probably the desert, in the middle of nowhere, Texas. In fact, this is where I just got back from. Cities Marfa Mural, paint on canvas (available) In the middle of West Texas lies an artist paradise. Marfa is a small town founded in 1883 that's sprinkled with contemporary art galleries / foundations, public sculptures and new movements taking shape. From high above, the area feels calm, almost desolate. Look closer and...
