🌴 Rio Art Residency Drop Now Live 🎨

Hey Reader,

This week we launched our new collection of artworks created during the Rio Art Residency, in collaboration with Transient Labs. It will be open just for one week!

I wanted to share with you a bit more about the story of how this residency came to be, and to share some more of the art.

The story starts with a wonderful friend, artist, collector and mentor of mine named Selkie.

Selkie was born in Brazil and currently lives in London. Unfortunately she lost her father (also an artist) last year suddenly. But she was determined to give back and turn her family's loss into something beautiful...

Her father left her a small inheritance, which Selkie later used to kickstart the funding of the Rio Art Residency. Once we joined up to build this out, it just kept getting bigger and bigger until we had 19 artists on board. The positive mindset and vision were unstoppable.

The week's activities - including the mural and all the work produced - became a symbol of his profound legacy and our new art family.

I was honored to be brought on as the lead artist, and now co-founder, as we look toward the future.

Artists: Efdot, Rebecca Rose, MUMBOT, Alimo, Luciana Guerra, Foodmasku, Sarkis, SirenAi, Luko, Rachel ST Wood, DrainedEye, Cameron Smith, Wizard James, David Moriarty, Carlos Aquino, Ottis, Daniel Tucci, Mateu Velasco, AndrΓ© Dahmer

During the week, the 19 artists collectively created over 100 artworks.

Each selected their favorite piece from the body of work they made in Rio, to be included as one of the pieces in the edition.

I am so excited to be a part of this collection. It's become a symbol of community, and it's the first ever release of its kind:

19 artists / pieces all combined together on one immutable edition token, made using Transient Labs tech.

All artists get compensated the same amount for each show of support, creating a more equitable way to support group shows & residencies – 2 very important parts of an emerging artist's practice.

Fast forward a couple weeks, my partner Jessie and I had the privilege of hosting a dinner party in our studio to celebrate with the artists, patrons, and supporters.

This gathering was incredibly special. It allowed us to reflect on the transformative experiences we shared in Rio and to further strengthen the bonds formed over the last year. Bringing together such a diverse, talented group of individuals in an intimate setting highlighted the uniqueness and uplifting vibe that defined the project.

The gathering at our studio took place after a string of Rio Residency related events in NYC this past weekend - Thank you to all who joined us at Time To Be Happy Gallery in Soho on Friday/Saturday.

The drop will be open for the next week. *Other forms of payment can be accepted case-by-case, if you want to support this initiative just reach out!

Thanks for reading, sharing and showing love. I'm here to answer questions / feedback and would be happy to hear from you.

Cheers
